"The dirty chicken has a secret..."

08.06.02 - 7:06 pm

I'm sick. I have a cold. I feel feverish. *swoon*

My mom bought me the kind of chinese food that I love for lunch. I split it with my sis, and we both still had enough for din-din. I know that my mom bought me the chinese to make me feel better, but I think part of her reasoning was then she could be sure that I'd eat lunch and dinner to-day. I'm not a very big eater anyways; and when I'm sick, I tend to skip meals, just cause it's hard to make myself eat when I don't feel right.

Heh, so here's a tip that might work for you other light-eaters kids:
Don't eat very much in front of your parent(s). If you are already a light eater, they might take notice. If they start pestering you to eat, say things like, "But I just ate a cup of yogurt for lunch three hours ago." Eventually, (if your parents are anything like my mom,) they'll start buying things specifically that you like, so then you'll be more tempted to eat.

So that's a dirty little trick that might get your parents to buy special food treats for you more often. I found this out quite by accident. When I was away at college, my stomach got used to much smaller meals, so when I came home, I'd eat much less than I used to. My mom noticed, and would pester me to eat more. Apparently, she wasn't happy with my answer, "Really, mom, I'm just not hungery". So now when I'm home, she buys me lots more things than she used to. I suppose some people might think it's a passive-aggressive way of getting what you want, but whatever! It's a win-win situation; you get the foods you like, and your parents feel good cause they know you're eating good. Remember, you don't want to over-do it; if you do, your parents are going to think you're anorexic or on a hunger strike or sumthin ;)

So that's the dirty chicken's little secret!

Here's other things that have happened lately: We celebrated my mom's birthday a few days ago. It went nicely. And yesterday, I taped the last episode of "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop". I've got the whole series (17 episodes) on tape. Whoo-hoo! When I go back to skool, I'm going to make episode summaries for the entire "She-ra" (93 episodes) and Penelope series. It'll be cool, and I'll post them on the Mambo Mania site =^-^=
